How Sunset Studio Helped Peerpod Build a Custom LMS That Developers Said Wasn’t Possible

The Vision

Peerpod is a performance enablement company delivering experiential learning programmes for high-growth, venture-backed teams. Founder Carl Martin had a bold vision: a flexible, powerful platform that could deliver highly tailored learning journeys, powered by a growing library of 100+ unique sessions.

But most LMS tools were rigid. They didn’t support modular content delivery, rich learner journeys, or client-level insights. Carl was looking for a system that was lean, adaptable, and genuinely reflective of Peerpod’s unique learning methodology—something that could be thoughtfully engineered to deliver flexibility, speed, and long-term scalability.

The Problem

Peerpod’s early platforms (Circle, Google Sheets) quickly became operational bottlenecks:

• Each new programme required manual setup and extensive admin time

• There was no easy way to customise learning journeys or track real-time engagement

• A key element of Peerpod’s methodology—timely “nudges” before and after each session—couldn’t be automated

Carl reached out to multiple developers to scope the project. Every one of them hit a wall trying to build the nudge logic. Most told him it wasn’t feasible.

Our Approach

That’s where Sunset Studio came in.

We approached the project from both a technical and operational lens—understanding not just what needed to be built, but how Peerpod works, thinks, and scales. Our no-code stack of choice: Airtable, Softr, and Zapier.

Together, we designed and launched a platform that:

• Turns 3 key inputs (start date, cadence, number of sessions) into a fully structured programme with automated session generation and scheduling

• Sends 423+ dynamic nudges in one programme alone, personalised by session and cadence, without any manual intervention

• Powers real-time dashboards for learners, facilitators, and clients—each with a unique view of progress, engagement, and outcomes

• Tracks attendance automatically via Zoom and visualises learner impact via pre/post assessments
